  1. Hello, Jon here again. Hope I am not intruding. Anyway, I just wanted to say I felt really good about myself until a few minutes ago as I got a PR on Helen this morning, 9:37, 55# DB, treadmill. I decided last minute to do Helen - my last wkout before Sat and felt a brief intense metcon would do the trick. One of my 2009 goals was to go sub-10, got that done. Wanted to do all sets unbroken, only had one break on last set of pullups, forearms were smoked, but still pretty pleased. Felt I could have shaved some seconds off as I had to bounce around the Y and wait for the treadmill to get to speed. Finished the AM off with heavy singles (for me) on thrusters, stopped at 190# with some in the tank but then had to get to work. All in all felt good, felt really good.

Then I see 8:34 and 8:03. Kudos, congrats, props on those times. Amazing. Back to the salt mine for me. Got to get more comfortable with uncomfortable, got to lay of the oreos. Appreciative to have folks to chase after.

Anyways, hays in the barn. Tomorrow, epsom salt bath, foam roll, stretch, play some golf on Friday, suffer on Saturday. Feeling mixture of dread, excitement, hoping not to look like a total fool.

Shane - again, hope I am not intruding but congrats on your anniversary, married my high school sweetheart as well, been together since we were 16 years old. Not the most common thing around, but best decision I ever made.

  2. Jon- feel free to post any time. Its always great to get other CrossFiters ideas and thoughts. As you may have guessed i am a skinny guy trying to get stronger so take my metcon times with a grain of salt. That 190 thruster makes me want to work harder. Tomorrow i have it on the slate so we will see how it goes.

  3. Nice work Jon, on Helen and the thrusters. I skipped the 1RM thrusters WOD in prep for the competition. And definitely no intrustion, please post here as often as you like, the more us CrossFitters share thoughts and ideas the better off we will all be. Thanks for the anniversary congrats. Oddly enough, all 3 of us, me, you and Ben are married to our highschool sweetheart...what are the odds? See you this Saturday. Good luck to us both!
